An exhibition featuring roughly 40 photos that depicts Zhouzhuang, a renowned water town in China, was held in Beijing on Oct 18.

The pictures by Song Jupu, a famous Chinese photographer, showcased the picturesque view of Zhouzhaung in multiple angles.

Differing from digital photography, those photos were created in a traditional way. Based on the sensitivity of silver salts to light, the photographer carried out many of the processes himself, adding his own creative touch. Each picture is a unique original.

Zhouzhuang, situated in the core area of Yangtze River Delta, one of the most economically dynamic regions in China is a typical water town with distinctive Jiangnan characteristics. It is noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses and the elegant watery view and has been dubbed the "Venice of the East".
